Illumination in my paintings is meant to spark joy in the familiar. I look for promise in a sunrise, gratitude in a setting sun, and serenity in light streaming through a quiet forest. Light guides the eye to what pulses beneath the surface: the glint of an eye, the glow of translucent petals, a slice of lemon, or the shimmer of glass. Even shadows hold their own elegant simplicity. A lifetime of trials has shaped my quest to capture the poetry and comfort held in light—using oils, brushes, and palette knives to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. I live in Eden Mills, Ontario, Canada.
